CONE TUNISIAN SQUARE

Hi everyone!

Have you heard of Tunisian Crochet Blanket CAL 2021? If not, let me tell you something about it. This CAL is organized and hosted by the talented Arunima of Knitter Knotter. It consists of 24 FREE Tunisian Square Patterns from different amazing designers. This squares will be seamed together to make a beautiful blanket.

I have been working on my square contribution for a while now and I am so delighted to finally share it with you. This square is crocheted mainly with Tunisian Knit Stitch with the addition of what I called “cone” Tunisian stitch. I am really not sure if there is such a stitch so let us just call it Cone Stitch.

The inspiration for this stitch was taken from the cone crochet stitch. I have first seen it on YouTube and I thought it is a great stitch to incorporate to my Tunisian square. So without anymore delay, let us dive in to our pattern.

  1. The written instructions for the cone stitch don’t match the photo instructions.
The text on the photo says to pull up five loops: current and four preceding rows.
The written instructions say to pull up a loop in the current row, THEN five loops.
In both cases the last step is to pull through five loops, and the photo shows five loops, so I think the written instructions are incorrect.

    Instead of
*** insert hook into next stitch as for Tunisian knit stitch, pull up a loop, insert hook and pull up a loop (to the height of the current row) into each stitch of the current and the 4 previous rows below, yarn over and pull through 5 loops on the hook. ***
    I think it should be
*** insert hook into next stitch as for Tunisian knit stitch, pull up a loop, insert hook and pull up a loop (to the height of the current row) into each stitch of the 4 previous rows below, yarn over and pull through 5 loops on the hook. ***

thanks! Looking forward to trying this
