THE CANDY LANE BEANIE

Hi! How’s your Thanksgiving Holiday? How about your Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping? If you’d asked me, well we had a great simple Thanksgiving Day! My mother-in-law and brother-in-law came over to celebrate with us. We also had a fun time video chatting with my sister-in-law and her family down at Virginia. It was really a great family time for us here!

We went shopping on Black Friday but mostly to buy some gifts for our girl. We didn’t go out too early too because we were avoiding the traffic and shopping chaos. And besides, some items on our list were already ordered online.

Okay, let talk about our new pattern! This project is in collaboration with Hobbii Yarn. If you haven’t heard of them yet, click here to find out more about this company! They provided the yarns I used for making this beanie which I called The Candy Lane Beanie. The yarn that they sent me was called Tivoli XL in Gray and Christmas Red. This yarn is produced in 100% HB (High-Bulk) acrylic and is available in most of your favorite colors. It is very soft and is great to the touch! I would say, it is comparable to Lion Brand’s Vanna’s Choice.

Now, let’s talk about The Candy Lane Beanie! This pattern is a little bit tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s a brisk to make it. As you can see from the photo, I used two colors and chose Red and Gray just because… T’is The Season! This color combination reminds of me Christmas colors and Candy Canes. This is where the pattern name came from!

Before we start, you might want to add this pattern to your favorites or buy the inexpensive PDF copy on Ravelry. As a part of the pattern release, you can get the PDF copy for free using the coupon code TIVOLIXL. This is good for 24 hours only!

You can also Pin it if you want to crochet it later.

Now, let’s do it!

NOTES

  1. Read through the entire pattern before starting.
  2. This pattern is worked sideways and when your work reaches its size measurement, the first and last rows are joined together.
  3. The beginning ch 1 does NOT count as a stitch.
  4. Numbers in ( ) at end of round indicate the number of stitches in that row.
  5. Asterisks * * indicate repeat instructions between asterisks as many times as directed or repeat at specified locations.
  6. I recommend using stitch markers to mark the beginning/end of the body and brim of the beanie. Remember to move up the stitch markers in each row.
  7. To avoid weaving in a lot of ends, non-working yarn is being carried under or worked over by the working yarn.
  8. Though I have included sizes for Newborn – Large Adult, this pattern can be easily customized. Not all heads conform to sizes by age; please measure for a more accurate fit (please see hat size chart and guide).
  9. Photos were included for your reference.

Before you begin, you may want to check out some of these HELPFUL VIDEO TUTORIALS that I gathered from YouTube. These videos are NOT my own but I included them here because I myself use them and I thought it would be great to share them with you.
